Research that was conducted by Carnell University said that if people are given the opportunity they will lie on the internet. They said that People lie on facebook, people lie on twitter, people lie on LinkedIn, and on dating sites often. My question is why do people lie? I suppose it’s because people are trying to be something that they are not. Judy Garland use to say that you should, “Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.” I would agree with that. The article went on to say that people are more likely to tell the truth in an email. That is interesting. I wonder as Christians if we are being the person that God wants us to be? God wants us to be what He wants, not what the world wants. God wants us to not be afraid, God would tell us to fear not. God wants us to be ready; He wants us to serve Him with a readiness. God wants us to be alive in Christ. God would desire that we live our lives with Him as our driving force. Are you being the person that God wants you to be? Do you know what God wants you to be? 1 Peter 1:7 tells us, "that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ," My prayer is that you and I would be genuine in our faith, and in doing so, we would be a great witness in this world!
