Law Enforcement has a slogan that reads, "Protect and Serve." What that means is that their duty as an officer is to protect the lives of others and serve their community in a variety of ways. It is a sacrifice to do this job. And in many ways I would say that its similar to a calling. You and I as Christians have a similar duty. We are to have a protect and serve attitude as we serve the Lord. When Paul was writing to Timothy he told him, "But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." 2 Tim 4:5 The days that we live in are dark. The times that are upon us are evil. That's why it is important for us to be armed with the word of God and filled with the Holy Spirit. We must do this in Jesus Name!
