Knowing the will of God in the life of another person is one of the most important questions that we can ask ourselves. What is Gods will for my life? What does God want me to do for Him? What is His plan for me? First and foremost, Gods will for every person is for them to have salvation. The bible tells us that He is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance. We are also told in John 3:16 that God so loved the world that He gave is one and only Son. Having said that, once a person has salvation then what? Well, after that, we are to live for Him! Paul writing to the Romans told them, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." The secret to knowing the will of God in your life is found in this verse. It can be done by asking yourself some simple questions inspired by this text. First one is, have your presented your body to God as living sacrifice? Offering your body to Him to be used for His glory and honor is a good starting place. God wants us to live a life of purity reserved only for Him. It is the only rational response to what He has done for us. Second question is, are you being conformed to the mold of the world, or the mold of Jesus Christ? Becoming more like Jesus and less like the world, will help us to walk in His perfect will. Last question is, are you allowing Jesus to renew your mind and thoughts with His word? How we think will determine how we live. If we are praying to Him, offering ourselves to Him, reading His word, allowing Him to transform us, then, and only then, will we know His perfect will for our life!
